2018 International Day of the Girl Child
Padare/Enkundleni/Men’s Forum on Gender (Padare) joins the rest of the world in commemorating the International Day of the Girl Child.
The organisation recognise the myriad of barriers that patriarchy places in front of women and girls thereby hindering them from reaching their full potential. As an organisation we are working to eradicate all forms of abuse and discrimination against women and girls through engaging men and boys as agencies of change in Zimbabwe.
As men and boys we stand in full support of efforts towards equality between men and women and affirmative action that support the deliberate uplifting of women and girls to the same opportunities as men and boys. To that effect, our programmes support gender equality, gender based violence prevention and response and access to Sexual, Reproductive Health services for women and girls, especially adolescent girls and young women. We also work with traditional and faith leaders, challenging social norms that promote the subjugation of women and girls throughout Zimbabwe.
In line with this year’s theme, “With her: A skilled Girl Force”, we believe men and boys should play a role in ensuring that they support and create an enabling environment where a skilled girl force becomes a reality.
